Paul Klee Mostra Mudec Milano

The exposition at the Mudec Museum dedicated to Paul Klee

The Mudec in Milan hosts from the 31st of October to the 3rd of March 2019 an exhibition dedicated to Pal Klee, German painter who lived in the first half of the XX century, one of the mayor representative of the Abstractionism.
The exposition at the Mudec dedicated to Paul Klee presents a selection of canvas of the famous German painter on the theme of  “primitivism”. The works of art exposed have the common thread of primitivism, with clear calls to the pharaonic Egypt, to the paleocristiane era, the Early Medieval and the Coptic Art. The artist’s interest in anything primitive or savage derives from his first trip in Italy during the first years of the XX century.

The exhibition comprehends about 100 works of art of Klee, coming from important private collections and European museums.
The exhibition is divided into seven different sections. From the section dedicated to the caricatural pieces to the period in which the artist describes himself as “cosmic illustrator”,  the section of the “epigraphic” primitivism, also named "invented alphabets and hieroglyphics", the puppet theatre section and of course the “polychromy and abstraction” section where the most beloved and famous works of Klee are exposed.
